I was looking at the single action revolvers at a nearby Gander Mountain when a .45 LC Uberti caught my eye- mainly because the price was so low. I took a closer look, and discovered the reason it was so much cheaper than the others: It had the crudest, ugliest matte finish ever seen on a Colt replica. I don't mind a matte finish on a hunting gun or a military gun, but on a Colt SA replica? It looks like a plastic toy.
I'd gladly pay the extra $150 for an Uberti with a nice polish, a deep blue, and a color case hardened frame. But I suppose if I was paying that much, I'd rather get a Ruger Vaquero with a more modern design, coil springs, and the Ruger trigger safety.
